ABOUT JEANIE
As a born and raised Oregonian, an educator, a non-profit professional, a product of Oregon's public school systems, & a mother of high school and elementary age children, I know how crucial a quality education is. My career in higher education and youth leadership development has been dedicated to working with communities from all backgrounds and beliefs to create innovative, effective, and collaborative approaches to increasing accessible quality education.
As a mother of two, I believe that families and children deserve to feel and be safe in Gladstone schools. As an educator, I know that an equitable education is crucial for our children and our future. Our teenagers and children need our support now more than ever. I believe that a quality educational environment requires supporting overall mental, emotional, & social wellness. In addition, I believe that our educators deserve good pay, reasonable class sizes, and adequate resources for creative, effective education. I deeply am committed to investing responsibly in our children’s future in alignment with our community’s values.
Our kids and families are relying on us to provide safe, inclusive, creative, sustainable, and effective educational environments with the necessary support for students from all backgrounds and circumstances. Our students and families are navigating social, emotional, cultural, financial, and mental health barriers like never before. Our educators are being pulled in ever-increasing directions, with increasing workloads and decreasing resources. Our children, families, & dedicated and skilled educators deserve an advocate. I would be honored to be that advocate.
